How do you contribute to Quality?

As a quality professional, I contribute to quality in various ways:-

·         I’ve worked in Quality Control /Quality Assurance/Total Quality Management field for the past 20 years. Started as Total Quality Control Engineer then Training and TQM Manager, Quality System Manager and promoted along the way until Senior Reliability/Quality Assurance Manager.

·         Assisted few multinational companies won the Malaysia Prime Minister Quality Award, Quality Management Excellence Award and Product Excellence Award.

·         Currently as the Principal Consultant and Trainer help organizations meet customer needs and requirements through training, consultation, development and implementation of:-
- Quality and Environmental Management Systems (ISO9001, ISO/TS16949, ISO14000, ISO13485)
- Quality Improvement Tools and Techniques
- Applied Statistics and Operational Techniques
- Lean Six Sigma Strategy and Deployment.  i.e. Green and Black Belt trainings 

·         Resource person for Federation of Malaysian Manufacturers (FMM) on Quality, Productivity and
 Improvement topics since 1995 until now.

·         I guided, coached and shared experiences with interested individual professional looking for career advancement in quality fields

·         Charity talks to local Small and Medium Industries including Government Bodies/Agencies.

·         Served as ASQ Malaysia LMC chair since July 2011, successfully establish, setup the LMC central committee and run few programs and activities as per yearly plan – regional member gathering, the Future of Quality and Lean Six Sigma Workshop in collaboration with Federation of Malaysian Manufacturers Institute, Participation of ASQ Malaysia LMC Exhibition at the 2012 International Convention of Quality Control Circles (ICQCC) and Asia Productivity and Innovation Conference (APIC) at Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre and etc…

·         Recruited more than 300 over ASQ members in Malaysia

What do you hope to accomplish during your time as a member leader?

Elected as the ASQ Malaysia LMC chair since July 2011, I’m fully committed and dedicated to improve, and enhance ASQ membership values to our local Malaysian members.  Our mission is to provide a communication channel for local quality professional and to enhance quality awareness of local community. Various channel such as periodic ASQ Malaysia LMC news bulletin was prepared and circulated, setup of ASQ Malaysia LMC Facebook Group and LinkedIn Group for local communication also have been done and completed.

I plan to continue working to organize regional member gatherings, organizing visiting and benchmarking learning trip to quality-award-winning companies for best practices, organizing charity quality talks to local Small Medium Industries/Enterprise, conducting the road-show talks to local universities and colleges to make ASQ Malaysia LMC present more obvious and significant and at the same recruiting more ASQ member especially on corporate and student memberships.
